Lining up to take a penalty kick can trigger all sorts of butterflies. Here are three tips to help you score!
Going into a penalty with the right frame of mind can make all the difference. You need to have confidence in your training. This confidence in your training will improve results when you line up to take the kick. With confidence your chances of scoring increase.
Practice penalties in a fatigued state. Taking reps at the end of training when you are tired teaches you how to focus and refocus. this way you feel like you would at the end of the game.
Aim for the low sides of the cage! Often kicks that go high will sail the cage or miss wide, aiming low gives you room for error. If your ball does ending up sailing high it still has a good chance of going past the goalie.
